Mamiko’s 1st Birthday

This print came to fruition for my daughter’s first birthday. For the first 12 months of her life, I had used each element in this pattern to shape the number month that was her current age. Near the end of the year, I hand sketched each element, edited it in Adobe Illustrator and then created the repeat pattern for fabric on Spoonflower. I then sewed a shirt for her to wear at her 1st birthday party (as well as pockets on each family member’s shirt for a cohesive look).
