One Pager Business Startup

I’ve had a few conversations with friends starting businesses or thinking of starting their business and the below is a product of those conversations. Whether it is the debate about which website hosting platform, or if you should take the plunge and buy Google suite, the below is a condensed “checklist” of starting a business, at least the nuts & bolts!

WEBSITE
- Purchase Domain Name (Go Daddy)
- Purchase Hosting Website (Squarespace*, Wix*, Shopify)
- Purchase G Suite

*I have Junebug Flowers and Happy Day Kidswear on Wix. I have my personal LanaTang website on Squarespace and I prefer Squarespace! More user friendly.

BANKING, PAYMENT, TAXES
- Bank Account (Preferred Bank, consider monthly fees)
- Accounting Software (I.e. Intuit Self Employed)
- Accountant (Individual- consider someone local or someone that works in the industry)
- Register Company (Sole vs LLC, EIN)
- Payment (PayPal, Square)
- Local Tax Authority (PHL - eTides)

SOCIAL MEDIA
- Instagram - no fees to setup account, but can pay for advertising
- Facebook - Create page, no fees to setup account, but can pay for advertising
- Google Business Page (can tie to G Suite)

OTHER PLATFORMS/ ACCOUNTS/ MEMBERSHIPS
- Etsy shop (no setup fee, but takes a % of each transaction)
- Shipping (USPS, FedEx, UPS)
- Industry websites (i.e. floral wholesalers account setup, MakersRow for clothing)
